The food didn't really suit my taste. But if you like it there you can go there again. Service is ok. The ambience is that of a country inn from the 90's. I liked that you could see into the kitchen. It was clean too. The tables and chairs are all disinfected immediately after leaving the table. Corona. I had never seen it like this before.

I don't usually write reviews. However, this must be. A few days ago my partner and I wanted to stop off after a short hike in the Stevertal to have a coffee and eat a cake. It was 4:40 pm and 2 tables of about 15 were occupied outside. The waiter spoke to us and we asked for a seat outside. The waiter then asked us how long it would take us to eat it? At the same time he gave us to understand that all tables would be reserved from 5 p.m. We then left again. From my point of view, you don't ask guests how long they need to stay. In addition, it is questionable to reserve 100% of the outdoor seats so that not even 2 guests can come spontaneously. Last but not least, I thought that the gastronomy in Nottuln also needed to offer its guests satisfactory solutions. We were very disappointed and won't be back anytime soon.

I don't know which is better, the great food or the takeaway of homemade raisin bread, ham and sausage. Although Münster was the actual destination, we ate there both on the outward journey and 3 days later on the return journey and found that German cuisine can be very attractive from time to time.

This typical German Guest house and rustic restaurant is somehow hidden in a charming and quiet village in Nottuln- Münsterland in Northrhine Westphalia. Worth your time and money to dine here and enjoy the atmosphere of an ancient time in Germany. Food is excellent and ambience is at its best plus friendly staffs. The smoked hams hanging on the ceiling is catching a lot of attention and the open fireplace makes it more cozy to enjoy the delicious food, typical of Münsterland and Westphalia. Price is right and portion of food order is big that you can share or take out if you can’t finish it. Clean rest rooms and very classic and rustic atmosphere. Worth coming back and can highly be recommended.

Our hosts took us to dinner here and we met up with their son and his wife. As we had not seen him since he stayed with us for tha last time, in Port Elizabeth RSA. There was a lot of catching up to do. In between the lovely dinner we enjoyed. The Owners and staff spoilt us and besides the amazing food , we were blessed with a balmy warm evening.
